We're all used to having to level and grind away killing  the same monsters over and over again to build our character.   Of course gradually earning EVE ISK to buy new stuff and get the coolest equipment is part of the bargain.   But I think the balance is completely wrong in EVE - I'm no online gaming novice and I think it's just way too slow to gain any kind of EVE ISK.   When it becomes so difficult that the game is reduced to mindless tedium of hours of grinding for EVE ISK for little gain then the fun has gone out of the experience.

To be honest I was pretty close to quitting EVE out of frustration - I enjoyed the game but I wasn't playing the fun bits - just trying to get EVE ISK all the time.   My friend a World of Warcraft player suggested that I could buy EVE ISK for EVE fairly cheaply which would give me a boost just to get my horse.  I have to confess I was tempted but I was also very reluctant to spend real money on EVE ISK in a virtual computer game - it didn't seem quite right.

After some hours of deliberation and a certain amount of alcohol I decided on a compromise - I would spend half of what I was contemplating spending on EVE ISK buying a EVE ISK guide which could hopefully help me earn my own EVE ISK a bit quicker.
